Dr. Salman Abu Sitta to receive the Faris Odeh award
June 21, 2003 from the Palestine Right to Return
Coalition

About Faris Odeh:

Muhammed Al-Durra was the first child killed in the
current Palestinian Intifada (30 Sept. 2000). On
November 9, 2000, the 50th Child killed by Israeli
forces was Faris Fa'iq Odeh, a few days shy of his
15th birthday, near the Muntar/Karni checkpoint in
Occupied Gaza. He was shot in the neck and left to
bleed to death. Ten days earlier he was photographed
throwing stones at an Israeli tank (photo attached).
About the same time that this famous photo was taken,
his cousin Shadi Awad Nimr Odeh, a 17 y.o. was the
37th minor killed by Israeli forces (November 1,
2000). Faris is survived by his parents: Fa'eq and
Ina'am Odeh and eight brothers and sisters. Odeh in
Arabic means the return and Faris refers to a noble
horseman.

About The Palestine Right to Return Coalition (PRRC):
